I use a range of approaches, including cognitive behavior therapy and object relations. Cognitive behavior therapy looks at how someone’s thought process affects their feelings and actions. Object relations examines clients’ current relationships with others, and how they may have been shaped by past emotional attachments.
Moving at a pace that is comfortable for each person, I help clients identify major issues that are holding them back, and ultimately to make real, tangible progress. When I help clients review their past, my goal is to help them understand how it is affecting them today.
You may be carrying tension in your body, such as in your shoulders, back or jaw. Or maybe your stomach hurts when you talk about your stressful relationship. I will help you become more in touch with these feelings, and we will look at ways for you to find relief. This may involve practicing deep breathing and other relaxation techniques.
I provide individual, couples, and family therapy.
